The Heart of It is committed to supporting and sustaining accessible, educational, and collaborative spaces for writers, especially those who have faced barriers-of-entry due to systemic obstacles. Your contribution helps us sustain this vital work.

One-time and recurring donations will:

  • Support an expansive community of writers creating culture-shifting work.

  • Increase access and lower barriers to high-quality educational & communal spaces.

  • Fairly pay teaching artists who create curriculum across multiple genres & movements.

Your donation will also help us:

  • Create and steward a community-driven writers sanctuary in the Olympic Peninsula.

  • Build capacity as we enter the next phase for this growing organization.

  • Build collaborative curriculum and programming to create, learn, and dedicate time to life-sustaining writing and creativity.

  • Offer and obtain mentoring and educational experiences for teaching artists and community organizers to lead their own radical creative spaces in their community.

As donations increase, tuition will decrease, and The Heart of It will be able to offer full or partial scholarships for every writer. When 40 writers attend, full tuition is $2,495 per writer. Our goal is to offer scholarships to every writer.
